Statement of Faith
The Scriptures
I believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments to be the Bible, “as it is in truth, the Word of God…”
I Thessalonians 2:13 “For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.”
I believe in verbal, plenary inspiration in the original writings, and God’s preservation of His pure words to every generation. Today we have a perfect, inspired and preserved Bible.
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
II Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
The Masoretic Text of the Old Testament and the Received Text of the New Testament (Textus Receptus) are those texts of the original languages that God used to give us the King James Version of the Bible. The only Bible I accept and use is the King James Bible and this is my sole authority for faith and practice.
Psalms 12:6-8 “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
“Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”
Psalm 119:130 “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.”
The Godhead
I believe in one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons–Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections.
Deuteronomy 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:”
II Corinthians 13:14 “The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen.”
Genesis 1:1 “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”
The Person and Work of Christ
I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man, without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful men.
John 1:1-2 & 14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
“The same was in the beginning with God.”
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Luke 1:35 “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”
Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
“Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”
Isaiah 7:14 “Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
Philippians 2:5-8 “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:”
“Who, being in the form of God, though it not robbery to be equal with God:”
“But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:”
“And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.”
Galatians 4:4-5 “But when the fulness of time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,”
“To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.”
I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His blood and finished work on the cross of Calvary, as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice; and that our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.
Romans 3:24-25 “Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
“Whom God hath set forth to be the propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins past, through the forbearance of God;”
I Peter 2:24 “Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.”
Ephesians 1:7 “In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”
I Peter 1:3-5 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,”
To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
I believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended to Heaven, and is now exalted at the right hand of God, where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry of Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate.
Acts 1:9-11 “And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.”
“And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;”
“Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.”
Hebrews 9:24 “For Christ is not entered into holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us;”
Hebrews 7:25 “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intersession for them.”
Romans 8:34 “Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intersession for us.”
I John 2:1-2 “My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:”
“And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but for the sins of the whole world.”
The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit
I believe that the Holy Spirit is the Person who reproves the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; and that He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, indwelling all believers and sealing them unto the day of redemption.
John 16:8-11 “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”
“Of sin, because they believe not on me;
“Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;”
“Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.”
Romans 8:9 “But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”
Ephesians 1:13-14 “In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,”
“Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.”
I believe that the sign gifts of the Holy Spirit, such as speaking in tongues and the gift of healing, were temporary. I believe that speaking in tongues was never the common or necessary sign of the baptism or filling of the Holy Spirit and that ultimate deliverance of the body from sickness or death awaits the consummation of our salvation in the resurrection, though God frequently chooses to answer the prayer of believers for physical healing.
I Corinthians 13:8-10 “Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”
“For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.”
“But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.”
I Corinthians 14:21-22 “In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that they will not hear me, saith the Lord.”
“Wherefore tongues are a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.”
Hebrews 2:3-4 “How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;”
“God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with divers miracles, and gifts of the Holy Ghost, according to his own will?”
Man
I believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and that man is totally depraved, and, of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition.
Genesis 1:26-27 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
Romans 3:22-23 “Even the righteousness of God which is b faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
Ephesians 2:1-3 & 12 “And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins;”
“Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”
“Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lust of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.”
“That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:”
The sacredness of human life is evident in that God created man in His own image and is mindful of him, and in that Christ died for man; therefore every individual possesses dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Psalm 40:5 “Many, O LORD my God, are thy wonderful works which thou hast done, and thy thoughts which are to us-ward: they cannot be reckoned up in order unto thee: if I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.”
Psalm 139:13 “For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.”
Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.”
Hebrews 10:10 “By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.”
James 2:1 “My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.”
The Way of Salvation
I believe that the clear message of salvation is “repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ”
Acts 20:21 “Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.”
I believe that salvation is “by grace” plus nothing minus nothing. I believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:”
“Not of works, lest any man should boast.”
Romans 5:1 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”
II Corinthians 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”
I believe that all the redeemed, once saved are kept by God’s power and are thus secure in Christ forever. I believe that eternal life is the present possession of every believer.
John10:27-29 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:”
“And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”
“My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
Romans 8:38 & 39 “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,”
“Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
I Peter 1:4-5 “To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,”
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
The Church
I believe that the New Testament church is a local assembly of baptized believers who have voluntarily joined themselves together to carry out the Great Commission. The Lord is doing His work in this world through local churches. The establishment and continuance of local churches is clearly taught and defined in the New Testament Scriptures.
Acts 14:27 “And when they were come, and had gathered the church together, they rehearsed all that God had done with them, and how he had opened the door of faith unto the Gentiles.”
Ephesians 1:22-23 “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”
“Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.”
Colossians 1:18 “And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”
I believe in the autonomy of the local church free of any external authority or control. Christ is the only head of the church and thus it is not accountable to or controlled in any way by a convention, denomination, fellowship or any man that is not a member of that local church in good standing.
Acts 15:19-31 “Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God:”
“But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood.”
“For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.”
“Then pleased it the apostles and elders, with the whole church, to send chosen men of their own company to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas; namely, Judas surnamed Barsabas, and Silas, chief men among the brethren:”
“And they wrote letters by them after this manner; The apostles and elders and brethren send greeting unto the brethren which are of the Gentiles in Antioch and Syria and Cilicia:”
“Forasmuch as we have heard, that certain which went out from us have troubled you with words, subverting your souls, saying, Ye must be circumcised, and keep the law: to whom we gave no such commandment:”
“It seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,”
“Men that have hazarded their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
“We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who shall also tell you the same things by mouth.”
“For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these necessary things;”
“That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.”
“So when they were dismissed, they came to Antioch: and when they had gathered the multitude together, they delivered the epistle:”
“Which when they had read, they rejoiced for the consolation.”
I Peter 5:1-4 “The elders which are among you I exhort, who am also an elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:”
“Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;”
“Neither as being lords over God’s heritage, but being ensamples to the flock.”
“And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.”
The Ordinances of the Church
I believe there are only two ordinances for the church; water baptism, which is by immersion and the Lord’s Supper. These are not for salvation but for the saved and the purpose of obedience and remembrance.
Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:”
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
Acts 2:41-42 “Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls.”
“And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.”
I Corinthians 11:23-26 “For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you, That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread:”
“And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me.”
“After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as oft as ye drink it, in remembrance of me.”
“For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, ye do shew the Lord’s death till he come.”
“Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of the Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.”
Biblical Seperation
I believe that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon their Saviour and Lord; and, that separation from all religious apostasy, all worldly and sinful pleasures, practices and associations is commanded of God.
II Timothy 3:1-5 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”
“For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,”
“Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,”
“Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;”
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
Romans 12:1&2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
I John 2:15-17 “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
“For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.”
“And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.”
II John 9-11 “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.”
“If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed:”
“For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”
II Corinthians 6:14-7:1 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
“And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
“And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.”
“Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,”
“And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
“Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.”
The Return of Christ
I believe the “Blessed Hope” of our Lord’s return is literal, personal, visible, imminent, premillennial, and pre-tribulational. Believers will be caught up to be with the Lord prior to the seven years of tribulation, and at the end of the tribulation Christ will return with His saints to establish His thousand-year reign on the earth.
I Thessalonians 4:13-18 “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.”
“For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.”
“For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.”
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:”
“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
“Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
Titus 2:13 “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
I Thessalonians 1:10 “And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.”
Revelation 3:10 “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
Zechariah 14:4-11 “And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.”
“And ye shall flee to the valley of the mountains; for the valley of the mountains shall reach unto Azal: yea, ye shall flee, like as ye fled from before the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah: and the LORD my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.”
“And it shall come to pass in that day, that the light shall not be clear, nor dark:”
“But it shall be one day which shall be known to the LORD, not day, nor night: but it shall come to pass, that at evening time it shall be light.”
“And it shall be in that day, that living waters shall go out from Jerusalem; half of them toward the former sea, and half of them toward the hinder sea: in summer and in winter shall it be.”
“And the LORD shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one LORD, and his name one.”
“All the land shall be turned as a plain from Geba to Rimmon south of Jerusalem: and it shall be lifted up, and inhabited in her place, from Benjamin’s gate unto the place of the first gate, unto the corner gate, and from the tower of Hananeel unto the king’s winepresses.”
“And men shall dwell in it, and there shall be no more utter destruction; but Jerusalem shall be safely inhabited.”
Revelation 19:11-16 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”
“His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.”
“And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.”
“And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.”
“And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”
“And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
Revelation 20:1-6 “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.”
“And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,”
“And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
“But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
Our Eternal State
I believe in the bodily resurrection of all men, the saved to eternal life, and the unsaved to judgment and everlasting punishment.
Matthew 25:46 “And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
John 5:28&29 “Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,”
“And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
John 11:25&26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
“And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
Revelation 20:5 & 6 “But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.”
“Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
I believe that the souls of the redeemed are, at death, absent from the body and present with the Lord, where we are conscious and await the first resurrection, when spirit, soul, and body are reunited to be glorified forever with the Lord.
I Corinthians 15:51-54 “Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,”
“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”
“For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.”
“So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.”
II Corinthians 5:8 “We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.”
Philippians 3:21 “Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.”
I believe that the souls of unbelievers remain, after death, in conscious misery until the second resurrection, when with soul and body reunited they shall appear at the Great White Throne Judgment, and shall be cast into the Lake of Fire, not to be annihilated, but to suffer everlasting, conscious punishment.
Revelation 20:11-15 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”
“And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.”
“And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.”
“And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.”
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
II Thessalonians 1:7-9 “And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,”
“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:”
“Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”
Mark 9:43-48 “And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:”
“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
“And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:”
“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
“And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:”
“Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.”
Luke 16:23 & 24 “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”
“And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.”
Matthew 25:41-46 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:”
“For I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink:”
“I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not.”
“Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister unto thee?”
“Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.”
“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
